SLANTS, RANTS AND DISENCHANTS: paul rust’s oft-imitated-but-never-duplicated new nonos segment from comedy bang bang. i painted this for my sister for xmas and no one else in the family knew what was going on.

i did this painting for my friend tom for christmas because he loves 2 chainz so much and i like imagining 2 chainz sitting chainsmoking in his car nervous as hell about his upcoming date with the stripper from the extremely blessed vid.

ever since i found out martin freeman was going to play bilbo all i could think about was him wearing tim’s hat fm from the office uk. so i made that happen for us all.

for the midnight premiere of the hobbit this thursday (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) i made my friends and i noodies with the names of chapters from the book on them. kilbane is roast mutton bc he’s a gluten free health enthusiast, peter is queer lodgings bc he bucks the heteronormative, kathy is riddles in the dark because she’s a slytherin and i’m an unexpected party because i may appear uninterested but in fact love 2 partee. i designed the type in indesign then printed them on a thick cardstock and cut the letters out with a series of increasingly sharp xacto knives. then i used your typical bog standard metallic bronze spray paint from krylon on top of the stencils and there you have it! i’ll post another picture when we’re all rolling up to the quarry movie theatre in our size medium sap green noodies. I LOVE THE HOBBIT AND I LOVE NOODIES

mesa pt. II

i went on hella vacation this week inside of a mountain i think, it was truly either mars or middle earth and i tried to draw a lot but kept getting distracted by my book about anastasia romanov or rebecca or margaritas or the pool built into the side of a fucking mesa so the best i could do was two pen drawings. both were done with the best art supplies the walmart supercenter in page, arizona had to offer. i painted a bunch of skies in photoshop a while ago and have been plugging them into projects like this one. enjoy.

this is a rendering i did for class (and pretty much the only project this quarter i am legally allowed to put on the internet) of a redesign for an exhibit at a local world war 2 air force museum. it is based on the camouflaging set designers (and proto-imagineers!) did for bomber airplane factories in the US during world war 2 that allowed them to remain invisible from the air. in the museum, guests will be able to walk along an elevated boulevard of 4-foot homes and trees that allows for better view of the B-17 airplane restoration in the museum’s combat gallery. this video will give ya more info should you be so inclined to learn more
